My Little Pony: Friends Forever Comic Book series ready to launch in January 2014
People kept telling us here at Brony.com that 2013 is the year of the superhero, but as we predicted earlier this year, 2013 is the year of the Pony. Comic company IDW has just announced the creative team that will take the reigns for the upcoming My Little Pony: Friends Forever comic, a second series of Pony inspired books set to launch in January in 2014.
Alex de Campi and Carla Speed McNeil are behind My Little Pony: Friends Forever. De Campi is perhaps best known for the Eisner-nominated Smoke with Igor Kordey, while McNeil’s past features work on Queen & Country and Finder. Friends Forever will replace the current My Little Pony book micro-series when it concludes at the end of 2013.. Starting in January 2014, Friends Forever will focus in on singe-issues stories that focus on two characters. Issue #1 will center around Applejack and Pinkie Pie.
If the covers are any indication, My Little Pony: Friend’s Forever is going to be epic bake-off for us Pony comic book lovers.
