Lauren Faust assisting Mane6 on Them’s Fightin’ Herds

VhjDUT1sw1AIn March 2013, Mane6 created a fan-made fighting game called Fighting is Magic where you could play as your favorite pony and fight other ponies from the MLP show. The game production was going well and it was also non-profit, using its proceeds to donate money towards breast cancer. But that didn’t stop Hasbro from handing them a cease & desist.

All seemed lost until Mane6 changed the title of their game to Them’s Fightin’ Herds and took the MLP aspect out of the game. All this also caught the attention of Lauren Faust, developer of the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Lauren Faust has sided with Mane6 in the making of this game, and has become the character designer!

Mane6 started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the project, and not long after Lauren Faust created her own crowdfunding campaign for the game as well. It seems Lauren Faust loves to see the community side of the fandom and is willing to assist in a way every developer should.

The game has set a $436k goal, and has already raised $96,557 towards this goal, and this was only after half a day of the campaigns start! The campaign has only 30 more days to raise the rest, but with the rate it seems to be going, it should almost be no issue.

By pledging $15 you can reserve your own copy of Them’s Fightin’ Herds, even more goodies are given to bigger spenders. So pitch in towards this project and reserve your copy of the game today!
