Finally! Original My Little Pony Animated Series Set For DVD Release This September

It’s the series that started it all, and now here’s your chance to see it for the first time or revisit since your childhood. Take a trip back to Ponyland and spent some time with all your favorite original Ponies, their human friends as well as the Grundles. Set to be released as a 4 disc set containing all original 65 episodes, the original My Little Pony animated series (originally called My Little Pony ‘n Friends) first hit television in 1984 before becoming a full time animated series in 1986. 61 episodes aired originally over two seasons on Saturday morning in 1986 and 1987 respectively, with the first season of the series airing 48 episodes and the second season only airing 13 episodes before the series was canceled. The series featured characters voiced by greats like Bettina Bush, Nancy Cartwright (Voice of Bart Simpson on The Simpsons), child actor Danny Cooksey and Sandy Duncan.

For Ponies looking for an introduction to the series, an single disc DVD will additionally be released on the same date titled My Little Pony: Escape From Catrina and Other Adventures, which will include the 1985 one-off Pony episode “Escape From Catrina” as well as other highlight episodes of the 1986-87 series such as “Little Piece Of Magic”, “Would Be Dragonslayer”, “The Revolt Of Paradise Estate”, “Rescue From Midnight Castle”, and “Flight To Cloud Castle”.

Now if they’d only release My Little Pony Tales the series to DVD….

    Where can a brony like me get this? I’ve only had experience with Generation 4, I’d like to see the root of Pony!
