BronyCon To End After 2019
Well, it seems that even at 11 years it was too good to last. But, it’s just been announced:
The 2019 BronyCon in Baltimore will be the last BronyCon.
Following a decline over the last couple years, the promoters of BronyCon have announced on the official BronyCon website that the 2019 Convention will be the last.
“It’s been a wild ride, but all rides end eventually—and BronyCon 2019 will be our 11th and final event. As a group, we did not come to this decision lightly. Thousands of hours, hundreds of people’s efforts, and gallons of unicorn magic are put into every BronyCon. It’s a hard job, and one we do with love for the community. Love for the community that helped us make a major shift in cities in 2013 when we moved from our original New York home to Baltimore; the community that came out over ten thousand strong to set the record for the largest My Little Pony convention the world has seen; and the community that has raised over $155,000 for incredible charities like CureSearch.”
Citing how the MLP Brony community is ever-changing with fans getting older, the promoters of BronyCon have decided to call it quits and not “dwindle into embers.” They would rather that past attendees of BronyCon remember it “at its best.”
Suffice to say, with 2019 BronyCon being the last it’s fairly easy to assume that the final convention in Baltimore will be one heck of a party. BronyCon has already announced the dates for the 2019 Convention. Taking place Thursday, August 1st through Sunday, August 4th, 2019 in Baltimore — the final BronyCon will be the ultimate in 4-day My Little Pony celebrations. You better hurry and order your tickets. They are already being pre-sold on the Brony Con website for 2019.
